A Music Program created especially for pre-schoolers featuring the NOBLE DRAGONS, who will take your child on a wonderful musical journey introducing them to the delights of music.

This is a wonderful introduction to music and will give your child an excellent foundation should they wish to sing or play a musical instrument in the future.

• Discover the musical elements of beat, rhythm, pitch, form, tempo and dynamics through finger plays, action songs, chants, musical games, movement and playing rhythm instruments.
• Listen to sounds and respond appropriately – e.g. walking or trotting to a slow drumbeat, playing an instrument on a particular cue.
• Encourage singing in pitch through copying and “question and answer” singing games.
• Recognize whole notes, half notes, quarter notes, eighth notes and rests.

Classes will run on Monday, Wednesday & Saturday
- Mon & Wed 9:15 – 10.15 Treasure Dragons
- Mon & Wed 10:30 – 11:30 Dynamo Dragons
- Saturday 9: 30 – 10:30 either Treasure

   OR Dynamo Dragons depending upon demand

These classes will run throughout the year starting in September, fees are payable monthly

Eileen Joyce Harvey, although well known as a jazz and blues singer and songwriter, has been working in early childhood education for over 25 years and has developed other drama and music programs for music schools, and community schools etc.

Eileen has created the Noble Dragons  especially for Noble Music's Musical Discoveries family program to educate and introduce young children to the wonderful world of music in a fun and entertaining atmosphere.

Each week the dragons will search in a treasure box and discover musical games, songs, dancing and play acting, crafts, (such as making simple costumes and props ), and sometimes special guests will drop in.  This class will ensure your child has many great musical experiences with music from many styles, cultures and generations to inspire them. This class will also provide great social interaction.

Objectives

• To discover music through role play and singing.
• To experience different styles and cultures of music.
• To work together as a group to complete a story.
• To discover interesting instruments both common and obscure. 
• To enjoy crafting simple costumes and props
• To expand our imaginations.

Social interaction is the main focus of this class. however many of the basic preschool objectives are met as well:

1. Follow a class routine.
2. Small and gross motor control activities to strengthen growing muscles.
3. How to print their name
4. How to recite and recognize numbers and letters
5. Cooperating with others

The Dynamo Dragons are tuning up the rhythm band ready for new followers.

This class concentrates on learning and familiarizing the children with musical language and symbols in interesting and fun activities and games. We will make musical instruments and sing and play rhythm instruments in the Dragon Family band. The stories of the dragon family will top off the morning.

Objectives

• The children will learn to recognize and relay the meaning of many common musical notes and signs.
• They will enjoy learning about different types of instruments and how they make sound.
• They will learn about basic rhythm and beat and be able to experience many types of music.
• The will learn how to use their own instrument their voices.
• They will build confidence in performing in front of small audiences.
