We're Open!  Our New Studio Store is open in Enfield, effective Monday, April 2nd, 2007, and our official Grand Opening is scheduled for June 1st, 2007

The renovation process - February 2007 Noble Music Studios proudly announced the start of renovations on our new Studio Store space - newer larger facilities in Enfield, further expanding our services.

  • The space is located on the ground and lower level of the Parker Place building in Enfield, Nova Scotia.

  • Noble Music Studio has carried out extensive modifications and upgrades to provide a state of the art facility for instruction, performance, retail sales and instrument rental services.

  • See how our Studio Store came into existence over the course of several months - a week by week Photo Gallery of the renovation; before, during, and after!

the entry and retail area leads to the central hallway, back through the studio with various practice rooms sketched in on the north...                   posted 8/2/7 the web of framing also also now encloses the additional rooms on the south side of the studio... follow the central hall to the back stairway, leading to the drum instruction & practice space downstairs, as well as the break kitchen...

jason is getting ready to shift the new a/c ducting for the ceiling space upstaris... and here is drilling screw holes in the framing at the back of the lobby... special attention is being paid to the studio's electrical system, and much has been replaced for the upgrade...

the central hall opens into instruction & practice rooms, and leads to the lower level... once the framing was complete, the workers moved on to the dry walling; here we see how the central hall is filling in... the lights are on and somebody is home; with the main electrical panel disconnected, the spotlights make the space a little eerie for the workers...

here's peter with a tray of putty, smoothing over the joins between several dry wall panels... with the entry now walled in, the waiting area and retail space is now more defined and taking shape... while the central hall now gives a better idea of the layout of the individual practice and instruction rooms...

though it looks a little spooky right now, the area at the back of the central hall leading to the lower level will be well lit and safe when finished... here's a large space at the back of the central hall; two big to get into one photo.  multiple doors lead to the area, what do you think it's to be used for? stacks of stuff - now the ceiling tiles, slot board and fibreglass insulation have arrived and are stored in the entry awaiting installation...

March 2007 - things are progressing well...

peter wears a mask against dust, while he sands down the rough plaster of the drywall to prep for a base coat of paint. in the central hall we can see the first of the doors to the individual practices room have been laid by ready for install... jason is using a knife and two straight edges to neatly trim ceiling tile for the roof...

each door arrives wrapped in its own little baggie, to prevent scratches and breakage during shipment... bats of fibreglass insulation are being tucked into the space above the drop ceiling, before tiles go in... as the insulation and tiles are cleared out of the front entry, a white base coat of paint has been applied and several "slot wall" pieces hung...

the slot wall units provide a versatile display system and sections will be painted in different colours for different products... if you guessed the large space at the back is rehearsal space, you were right!  here a set of double doors has been hung; the space will offer flexible set ups... what's that in the corner?  yes, it's garbage!  just as you can't make an omelet without breaking eggs, you can't renovate without producing waste!

the new sign's up, the new sign's up!  nuthin' says "it's really happening" like having a big, brand new sign in place!

(March 14, 2007)

they're a bit dusty right now, but you can make out the new floor tiles now laid in the main entry/retail space.  colour choice is mostly neutral tans & creams... in addition to the new ceiling fluorescents, pretty track spotlights have been added to draw attention to the various retail slot wall sections...

two sets of folding doors are now in place in the back end rehearsal space; they'll allow easy access to and from the area for all kinds of equipment like amps and drum sets... here's another shot of the new track lamps in the front retail area; you can really see how the spot lights will show off the stock to its best advantage... 1...2...3...305...306...here the renovators are actually filling in every nail hole in the door frames with putty so the final coat of paint will go on smooth as silk - it's all in the details folks!

just peeking...here's a space we haven't really seen before now, a retail/office area in the front of the store for high end gear.  we can just see that the floor tile and slot wall is already in place inside... now the central hall leading to the practice rooms, rehearsal room and lower level has been completely painted & tiled and all the french doors have been hung... the first room on the north side of the studio actually provides a good view of the now nearly completed main retail space through the french door...

now the main slot wall panels have been painted and you can see how bright and cheery they make the place look! a clear view can be had by store staff of the main retail space from the side display area... the side display area leading to the back display room is also well lit and provides plenty of space for retail items...

even looking at just the south side of the studio, you can see that there's plenty of instruction rooms for lots and lots of students! while on the north side, this large instruction room has soft lighting, a sunny colour scheme and extras shelves for storage... and in the rehearsal room, now painted and with all lights installed, the impression is also of roominess...

more pictures coming each week!
